Shining A Light

Meet the Roszell Family

In May of 2021, 23-year-old Robert Roszell was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), after a two-year battle for answers to his rapidly declining health. Robert, Kasey, and their six-month-old son were facing the darkest time of their life.

"When I applied for a Fund a Life grant in 2022, I never thought that my family would be chosen, yet we were given a grant that changed the whole trajectory of our year. I had applied for a Fund a Life grant to help fix the engine of our 21-year-old wheelchair van, but while we were waiting for a response my husband and his wheelchair ended up falling out of the van and landing in the hospital for a night.

We were desperate for assistance and received the Fund a Life letter at the perfect time, and we were able to find a van that worked for my husband’s wheelchair and declining ability to maneuver a ramp by himself. Fund a Life has become such a large part of our journey, and we can’t wait for the time when we are able to give back.” - Kasey Roszell

Thanks to your support, Fund a Life was able to provide the Roszell family with a $10,000 grant in 2022.

  • "Knowing that your community sees you for more than your struggles is so important and we cherish the relationship that we have with everyone that has helped our family. If you are looking for a way to support such a special community of people, I will always suggest Fund a Life."
