Meet Lauren

Grant Delivered: December 2025

For years, Lauren has been the kind of person who quietly and consistently shows up for others. She has raised critical funding for the Alzheimer’s Association, championed community causes, and even nominated people she believed deserved a Fund a Life grant. Lifting others has always been part of who she is.

But in 2025, Lauren found herself facing a challenge she never expected. What was supposed to be a routine knee replacement turned into a rare and devastating complication.

A misplaced nerve block caused femoral nerve palsy, leaving her unable to walk without assistance and facing months, possibly years, of intensive therapy and uncertainty. Her surgeon told her she is the first patient in his career to experience this complication.

Since then, Lauren has endured excruciating pain, loss of mobility, countless medical appointments, and the financial strain of being unable to work. Her disability pay is about to decrease, and unexpected emergencies, like a sudden dental infection, have only added to the burden.

And still… she keeps fighting.
One step. One day. One appointment at a time.

Lauren has spent her life helping others find hope in their hardest moments.
